In complete honesty, I have never been to a White Castle, my knowledge of these burgers comes completely from the box you find in the freezer case at the grocery store.  However, these little guys are so simple that even my picky 6 year old loves them and they take practically no time to make, so win-win for me.

White Castle Burger Copy Cat Recipe



1 lb ground beef

1 tbsp. onion soup mix

3 slices American cheese

diced onions (optional)

dinner rolls



  1. Mix ground beef and onion soup mix till thoroughly incorporated.
  2. Press the ground beef into a 8×8 or 9×9 pyrex dish till flat.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees until beek is cooked through.
  4. Slice into 9 squares and top each burger with a 1/4 slice of cheese and diced onions if desired.  Serve on dinners rolls.
